Show 12 :: I see red, I see red, I see red

Well, as if we needed more reminding of the dominant colour of the moment – red – we see that referees aren’t shy of it either brandishing enough rouge ones to mark this season as the worst on record (Premier League records at least) for the sending off offence. We’re glad to see the colour blue provide some relief however, although not before giving Pompey a taxing time of it. Join us for more bad puns on this Show 12.

    good show this week again.

jack warner is being ridiculous, he hasnt explained why the handbag is “a symbol of derision, betrayal and embarrassment”, especially in light of no one else receiving the handbag saw it as offensive.

phil brown is going to go after this week i bet. his pal duffen is out, and brown will be the next to go, pearson wont spare him for the sake of the club. i agree with you chris, brown has put himself in this position, and he cant get himself out anymore. not even with more (apparently) false stories about saving suicidal women’s lives. hull was relied too much on geovanni, and although he is a great player, it is only at times, as he is a typical streaky south american player in the premier league.

Liverpool are in quite a shambolic state. I don’t think they’ll get out of the group for
champions league (need to win next two games at the least), but I think they’ll end up in
the top 4. Calls for Rafa’s head will be fierce by the end of the season, but unless he
chooses to go, the owners can’t afford to sack him.

the sendings off for carra and degen might have been a bit harsh, but they won’t be
overturned-carra only got the ball because he rugby tackled zamora, and degen might not have fully connected but both feet were in and studs were showing.

so glad to see pompey win. and dindane scoring was good, he’ll be their savior this year
if they stay up i think.

hmm, i think your joke might have been the lamest of the season mark, but i didn’t get it
so i couldn’t fully judge. i’ll give you a pass.

berbatov is the key to united having a good season i think, to a degree. if he can link up with rooney well, attacking should be great. but the center backs need to pick it up. evans usually has been good with either vidic or rio, but evans and brown were shocking
midweek against CSKA. but i still think wes brown is great, a great servant for the club
by sticking there despite lack of playing time. silvestre was the player you were thinking about mark, the one who went to arsenal. he was a center back (not a left back) and though was decent at first, injuries and blunders cost him his place and arsenal look
foolish for picking him up (arsene showing his weakness for signing his compatriots lol)

Fabregas goal was great skill, but it loses a bit of something because of the
carelessness of the spurs defenders that gave him the ball in the first place.

kenwyne jones deserved to go, by law, he raised his hands. but ilunga was shameful in his overreaction. kovac’s sending off was wrong however. i think he knew he was going to be sent off and tried to milk his injury hoping the ref might be lenient.

i’m hoping for a draw for united at the bridge this weekend. but on form, this will be
    tough. come on united!

i agree that tim cahill is better than kewell, but cahill is streaky also (just not as
much as kewell) and it is showing in his everton form. unless this is just because he
doesn’t have the help of arteta.

more talk of brighton chris, i like hearing about the gulls!

Ok. So the phrase is getting old, but, “What’s wrong with Liverpool!” Really. No. Really. I’ve never seen a team dominate possession so much without quality shots. Speaking of, how about the scorcher from Jerome. My that was a pretty strike. But 2 bad losses in a row. Yes, I’m a Fulham fan, but no way Zamora should have been as open as he was for the first goal at the Cottage. But, Ok. Fulham shocked Man U last year (after 2 red cards). These things happen. But a draw….to Birmingham….at home….that Liverpool were lucky to get! Forget the title race, are we entering a shift in the top four? Man U. Chelsea, Arsenal……and Man City? Tottenham? Villa? That’s precious real estate that doesn’t open very often. What’s your thoughts on who, at the end of the season, will be 4, 5 and 6? – assuming Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal are the top 3 – and I can’t see them slowing down.

Good show again, boys. Looking forward to your take on Chelsea-Man Utd. Just finished reading Ferguson’s comments, which seem to suggest he was watching a different game than I was. Credit to United; they played well in midfield particularly, and managed to ensure that the game was dictated according to United’s midfield strength rather than its glaring weakness in central defense.

But Ferguson cannot say with a straight face that “We were by far the better team.” This was easily a 50-50 game. United won the midfield tussle but Drogba, Anelka and Ashley Cole were always more threatening going forward than Valencia, Giggs, and Rooney.

More offensive is how Ferguson never acknowledges his own fortune with the officials. Jonny Evans deserved straight red for his studs-up boot to Drogba’s chest, and Darren Fletcher looked positively Scholesian with his repeated deliberate fouling. The Rooney offside decision was borderline, admitted, but Ferguson’s antics have grown old and the media really need to call him on it. Well-fought match — could’ve been 1-0, 0-1, or draw, but both sides benefitted from missed calls by Atkinson. The only thing separating the two sides in quality was the quality of their sportsmanship; in the measurement of class and humility, Fergie’s at the bottom of the table.
