Show 17 :: Man City Tru Blu?
In a week that sees league leaders Chelsea suffer a surprising 3rd defeat (no draws, all wins in other games!) we ask the question have Man City got the stamina and consistency to keep it going. We ponder Australia’s chances in a tough group D in the 2010 World Cup and take our hats off to the FA for leaving a BIG game all on it’s own on Sunday. Join us in the ramble in this show 17.

Good show. I have no negative criticisms. Sorry.
What I’ve always enjoyed about the podcast is that it’s not full of pretentious football chatter. To many shows/podcasts have hosts that are trying too hard to make some profound statement about the game. I don’t want to hear a duo that is always trying to one-up each other and getting into heated arguments about topics such as Owen’s return or Rafa’s rants. And oddly enough, living south of the equator probably helps your perspective – or at the very least gives you an interesting and different perspective.
I’m really looking forward to the Spurs-Man City match. Mainly because it can go any which way. I would believe a 5-0 Man City win, a 5-0 Spurs win, and anything in between.
Good to see you root against NZ as much as I root against Mexico. Rarely do I hate teams in any sport, but it’s really hard for me not to hate the Mexican team. I do feel that the US tend to overachieve and the Mexican side tends to underachieve in most major tournaments. England will win the group easy. This could be England’s time…I think they have as much confidence as they have talent, which is always good.
Zamora is MUCH better…..but there would have to be many major injuries to England strikers before he gets the call up. Many, many injuries.
Keep up the good work.
i had another long post typed in, but then the authentication code was apparently wrong (or time-lapsed lol) and the field was reset. oh well, im too lazy to type it up again, so i’ll keep it brief:
good show this week again. i havent read the comments from that one guy who rips on AGOTH apparently, but that is sad. we all know you guys do it in your free time and aren’t paid, and 99.9% of us are very much appreciative. i know i sometimes disagree with you two and point out errors, but that is not out of ill-will or to criticize the show. i love agoth and when it comes out each week it is the first one i listen to. keep up the great work, and thanks much!
All this talk about the WC being played in Australia that is going around atm – no offence Chirs but would love to see Australia get the WC and no games were to be played in Melbourne !.
If the AFL can afford to spend the money on getting a team at the Gold Coast and another team in Sydney yet not be able to put money away in case Australia gets the chance to host the WC then they need to seriously look at how they are spending the money that comes in via revenue. !
Enough about the WC & a certain AFL boos !.
Keep up the great podcasts !.

Hello Chris and Mark,
My name is Aman and I live in Pakistan. Football podcasts are banned here but I love the podcast so much I download it illegally every week because it is the only way I can learn about football in england since the games are not broadcast live here. I love you both so much and especially Mark with his intuitive comments even though I am not such a big Manchester United fan myself. I think it is great that you do this in your spare time for free because I do feel there is a genuine lack of interest in football in Australia, not that I have ever had the opportunity to visit. This my first chance to comment on the website and I just wanted to voice my appreciation for the time you two spend making this podcast. I will continue listening to it every week until I die and thank you again.
Love,
Mr. Jhan
Thanks for the positive comments guys – both Chris and I do it for the love – it certainly ain’t for the money (we make nothing and actually spend on it) so your comments are just icing on the footy cake for us. It’s a pity we’re not all in the same part of the world as I know amongst the AGOTH community Chris and I would love to throw a party or something but, alas…

I (delibrately) listened to this weeks episode on Sunday morning – your predictions for Man U and Chelsea were way off the mark. Being a Gunner, I am now worried about our match with Liverpool, based on your predictions!!
Again, good show guys – I tell you, it is my pick of program on TV or radio for the week. Thank you for doing this – for free and in your free time. I – and hopefully lots of others – do appreciate it.

It’s quite a pleasure listening to you guys on the pod, getting to know all the ins and outs of the premeir league. Living in Perth Western Australia, it is hard to find easy access coverage of the Premier league (because everyone hear only cares about AFL and Cricket), and the media barely ever cover what id going on.
A comment to Mark: I quite appreciate the fact that while you are a red devils supporter, you don’t show an enourmous amount of bias and you still show that you are quite a passionate supporter. Me being a Gunners fan, that you would be quite irritating if you were bias.
Anyway, hope you have many more pods to come.
Ben
