Show 24 :: Cup Runneth Over…
Well, we’re into February and things are hotting up with an absolutely massive weekend rolling to Wednesday covering 20 games in 5days. To take us there we catch up with all the action, ANC wrap ups and tidbits of transfer and salary cap talk oh and a certain JT hit the news for all the wrong reasons but, reason enough to check out this Show 24 of the season.

CAF is being ridiculous here. They’re applying the “no government interference” principle to a situation that doesn’t call for it, and surely fifa will pressure them into reversing that ban on togo.
I don’t think chelsea’s dropped points against hull were because of the Terry off the field stuff. Chelsea have been struggling a bit in the past few weeks and have been vulnerable on set pieces.
Can’t be happier with united’s demolition of arsenal. It’s all about finishing, and striker-less arsenal can’t put chances away. You guys are right about nani’s increase in form, but he needs consistency over the rest of the year.
Terry doesn’t “attract” controversy mark, he creates it! He does silly, stupid things without thinking of the consequences. But the only reason why capello should even think about getting a new captain is if a large part of the team doesn’t want to play for him. I find this highly unlikely, so I think Terry should stay as captain. If bridge is the only one who feels he can’t play with Terry (other than the non-English Manchester City player), then there will only be one Wayne in South Africa this summer… The white pele!
The move to liverpool killed off Robbie Keane’s career I think, chopping off the last 2-3 years he had. He will fizzle out at Celtic.
Robinho will return to European football, just not in England. He will move back to another Spanish team where he can thrive. I think I heard that city might want to save face and not sell him straight to a European club so they will use Santos as a proxy/middleman and sell him after the loan.
You hit the nail right on the head Chris: a salary cap would kill off English football if the cap isn’t European wide. Players wouldn’t come, and teams wouldn’t do well in European competitions. And then there’s EU law…
All this equals nonstarter!
I’m with you mark, my heart wants an arsenal win this weekend but my head doesn’t choose against Chelsea at the bridge.
Gudjohnsen was supposed to go to west ham mark, that’s probably why you thought he was a hammer. Zola was very angry at eidur for backing out to go to spurs at the last moment.
Worsted IS a word! I looked it up. Clearly mark is up to snuff on his late 19th century American English (it is used in “little women” apparently). Lol.
Good show…and one of your longest. So many games going on. Although it feels like a year since the Champions League and Europa Cup games.
Speaking of tourneys – too bad about Leeds. It would have been impressive if they could have downed Spurs. Admittedly, my beloved Fulham have been given the nicest draw – Notts County. Of course, this is good for County too, seeing as we aren’t scoring at all. I guess that’s what happens when you loose Andy Johnson, Clint Dempsey Zoltan Gera, Paul Konchesky, John Pantsil, and Bobby Zamora to injury.
The Togo ban is ridiculous. It makes as much sense as the guy Dick Cheney shot in the face apologizing.

So….Liverpool are once again in the European Football hunt, maybe eying 4th place in the table. Hmmm. So what you should do each week, is take my predictions, and then bet $100 the other way. I feel like every prediction I’ve posted has been dead wrong. Maybe that why I’m piss poor at tipping. sigh.
