Favourite World Cup Moment

We both agree and being English it’s not too surprising that our favourite World Cup moment was the “boy Line-aker’s” equaliser in the 1990 semi-final against (West) Germany.

We can close our eyes and see it in replay, on to the inside of the thigh, down to the fall, stroked with the left foot through the legs on the German defender, a slight bobble and it’s in.

We also have to admit that Maradonna’s 2nd goal in the 86 quater-final against England is another. The sheer quality of the goal, exemplified by Maradonna taking it around Shilton left us simultaneously heartbroken but mesmerised.
